CALL FOR POSTERS SUBMISSION 

Did you miss out on submitting your work for AGOSCI 2011?


A unique opportunity has risen to present your personal experiences, clinical, educational, and/or research work at AGOSCI 2011 as a poster.


A poster provides an opportunity to share your work visually including text, drawings, photos, graphs or whatever you need to make a point.


The Scientific Committee would like to give you an opportunity to share your experiences, work, adventures, or ideas with others.

 The Scientific Committee is pleased to call for abstracts to be submitted from indivduals or groups wishing to provide an oral presentation or poster at the AGOSCI 10th Biennial Conference.

Please read the following Guidelines before submitting an abstract:

 

Submissions in the following areas are particularly encouraged: 

  • Personal experiences of people with CCN or their families in any of the following themes
  • Strategies promoting positive health care and mental health promotion in children and adults with CCN
  • Experiences in the employment sector of persons with CCN
  • Initiatives in business, sport, arts, leisure and recreation sectors to facilitate participation of persons with CCN
  • Inclusive educational practices for persons with CCN
  • Facilitating AAC with people who are indigenous, older and/or from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Promoting education and awareness of CCN in communities beyond the "traditional" groups and bringing new members of the community on board
  • Innovation in practice and service delivery influencing participation and public awareness of people with CCB
  • Submissions covering other areas will be considered, especially approaches that influence community participation and public awareness

 Abstract:

Prepare a 500 word extended abstract and a 50 word short abstract. The 50 word short abstract will be printed in the conference program. Please save your abstract as "yourlastname.abstract.doc." If you are submitting more than one abstract, then add numbers next to the abstract ie. "yourlastname.abstract1.doc".

Styles and order: 

Title in upper case

Author(s) in upper and lower case, underline presenting author/s

Given name(s) then surname

Author affiliation:

Where there is more than one author, indicate this in the online submission process.

e.g. Mary Smith - 1, John Brown - 2

Abstract should cover objective, methods, key findings and conclusions.

Use upper and lower case.

Check spelling and grammar thoroughly.

 

Once you have created a Speaker Portal, please select the "Submit New Abstract" link and follow the prompts to upload your abstract.

 

If you have any Accessibility Needs, please click Presenter Profile Login in the Speaker Zone and follow the instructions to advise the committee of these.

 

You will be instructed to browse your computer and upload your abstract as a Word document.

 

Presentation type

Please indicate if you wish for your paper to be accepted as an 'Oral Presentation' or displayed as a 'Poster'. Please note, it is at the Committee's discretion which abstracts are accepted for Oral Presentation. If you wish to be considered for an Oral Presentation, please select how long you wish to speak for below. Please note, 90 and 60 minute Oral Presentations will need to allow for 10 minutes question time at the conclusion of the presentation. 30 Minute Oral Presentations will need to allow for 5 minutes question time.

 

Submission closing date - CLOSED

Submission closes 13 September, 2010. By submitting your abstract online, you consent to your abstract being reviewed and published in Conference material where appropriate. Should your abstract be accepted, you will be required to register for the Conference and pay registration fees. Authors will be notified via email if their abstract(s) have been accepted after 13 September 2010.
